Introducing Photography Vizion Club

A curriculum for students and adults who want to actually finish something.

I have taught enough workshops now to notice the same pattern. People leave inspired. They buy the camera. They shoot for three weekends. And then it stalls — not because they lack talent, but because nobody gave them the next step, and inspiration on its own has a short shelf life.

That gap is what Photography Vizion Club is for.

What it is

A structured curriculum for photography and video — built to be worked through in order, not browsed. Each module ends somewhere concrete: a technique you can demonstrate, a shot you can produce, a piece of work you did not have before you started.

It is gamified, which I want to be precise about, because that word usually means points that mean nothing. Here it means progress is visible. You can see what you have completed, what you have unlocked, and what comes next. The reason is simple: the people who quit are almost never the ones who can see how far they have come.

Nobody quits because the craft was too hard. They quit because nothing told them what to do on Tuesday.

Who it is for

Two groups, and they need different things from the same material.

Students — who often have more instinct than access. A phone, a borrowed camera, a real eye, and no structured way to develop it. School arts programs get cut first and hobby classes assume you already own equipment.

Adults — who have wanted to do this for years and keep not starting. Career changers, parents who want to photograph their own kids properly, people who bought a camera two Christmases ago and have used it on automatic ever since.

The craft is identical. What differs is pacing and how much is assumed, and the curriculum is built with that in mind.

Why I built it instead of running more workshops

A workshop is a day. It is a great day — but you go home, the week happens, and by the following Saturday most of it has faded. What survives is whatever you practised, and a one-day workshop has no mechanism to make you practise.

A curriculum does. It gives you the thing to do this week, then checks whether you did it, then builds on it. That is not a more exciting format. It is just the one that actually produces photographers.

Where it lives

Photography Vizion Club runs at club.dualvizion.com. It is built and live, and it grows as modules are added.

If you are a school, a youth program or an organization that works with young creatives, talk to me directly rather than signing people up individually — access is the entire reason this exists, and I would rather solve that with you than put a paywall between a sixteen-year-old and a skill they are clearly ready for.

And if you are one of the adults in the paragraph above — the camera in the closet, the two Christmases — start. The gap between where you are and where you want to be is smaller than it looks from here, and it is almost entirely a question of having the next step in front of you.
